No matter what kind of vehicle you're interested in, it won't be worth the investment if it isn't fun to drive. The 2023 Toyota bZ4X has a couple of configurations available, and choosing the right one is essential to your overall driving experience.
Standard models come with a single motor on the front wheels, providing 201 hp and 196 lb-ft of torque; this is an excellent amount of power for such a compact vehicle, and the all-electric engineering of the bZ4X takes advantage of the new architecture Toyota developed, making it a blast to drive. Then there is a dual-motor option for electric AWD if you want some boosted performance or improved traction in slippery conditions; with this setup, the Toyota bZ4X delivers 214 hp and 248 lb-ft of torque.
The AWD variant has a bit more horsepower and a significant boost to torque; although both configurations are excellent, this is the one we prefer for its improved performance and the exquisite handling of electric AWD. Since BEVs are known for letting you feel their power in a way conventional engines cannot, having the extra torque with the AWD setup really does make a difference.
Charging the Toyota bZ4X is rather simple, with options for Level 1, Level 2, and DC Fast Charging—so no matter what your living situation looks like, it'll be easy to keep your bZ4X charged. Level 2 charging with a 240-volt connection is the best option for keeping your vehicle powered up at home; the bZ4X can go from a Low Battery Light indicator to fully charged in about 9.5 hours via a Level 2 charger. With DC Fast Charging at a public station, a FWD model can go from the Low Battery Light to 80% in about 30 minutes. With a full charge, FWD models can get up to 252 miles of estimated range, while AWD models can get an estimated 228 miles of range with a full charge.

If you go with the Limited trim, you'll enjoy a number of upgrades built upon the already impressive standard features; for example, a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, with available radiant heating for the feet and legs of the driver and front passenger. The Limited features SofTex-trimmed seats with an eight-way power driver's seat, heated and ventilated front seats, and a Digital Key system that lets you use your smartphone for your ignition. A nine-speaker JBL Premium Audio system with a subwoofer and amplifier is also available for the Limited model, elevating your driving experience even further.
